Our Student Council — and that means yours too — lives from the people who dedicate themselves to helping others here. You are always welcome to support us with a wide variety of tasks! Bring in yourself and your talent! The Student Council is always happy to see new faces and fresh air with creative ideas. By joining, you not only help others, but you are also well informed about what is happening at the university and can further develop your own soft skills.

If you would like to know what the Student Council actually does, you can read the short description under Student Council or simply get in touch with us, for example via e-mail.

Getting involved in the Student Council

The Student Council is the cross-faculty student representation at TUD Dresden University of Technology. Accordingly, there is a lot to do regarding topics that affect not just a single degree program, but many students. In addition to the wide range of advice services, this includes organizing events for all students, maintaining the website (and creating a new one), social media, and the Student Council’s IT, as well as negotiations for the Semesterticket.

You can find a breakdown of the Student Council and its diverse responsibilities under departments. Usually, you choose a unit that you would like to support. The meeting board is also always looking for new team members. Don’t have an idea yet what would be right for you? No problem, simply contact us via e-mail or drop by the StuRa Shack StuRa Villa. We are happy about any support!

Want to support us? Here’s how to proceed!

  1. Have you decided on a unit, a working group, or a project? Great, then proceed with step 2. Otherwise, write us an e-mail or drop by so we can discuss together what suits you best.
  2. Get delegated or elected to a unit by the Student Parliament. To do so, send an e-mail to the meeting management. The e-mail should include a short personal introduction, the activity you would like to do, and a brief statement of motivation.
  3. Your delegation then takes place in the Student Parliament, which meets every two weeks on Thursday. From that point on, we officially welcome you to the Student Council family. We’re glad to have you here!
  4. Would you like to switch activities and get a taste of another area of the Student Council? That’s possible too! Coordinate with your fellow members and get delegated anew.

Do you still have unanswered questions? Then drop by in person or send us an e-mail.

Vacancies / Calls for applications

In addition, there are many offices and positions in the Student Council that we announce via vacancies. These can be positions as Unit Lead, Executive Director, or member of committees and other bodies. You will find out what the scope of work looks like in the individual announcements.

Getting involved in your Faculty Students Council

In addition to the Student Council, the Faculty Students Councils (FSR) are also part of the student self-governance. Your Faculty Students Council is very close to your degree program and your concerns. It organizes information events and parties, helps with questions regarding study organization, supports you with projects, and much more.

In the FSR, you can do a lot that benefits your friends in your degree program. Additionally, you can get to know people from higher semesters and experience your degree program from a whole new perspective.

There are various tasks, and you can get a lot done and make a difference. Whether you want to organize events, design materials, tinker with IT, or advise other students: everything is possible! If you would like to support your FSR, you can run in the next FSR election, or simply stop by during office hours or write an e-mail. You can find the contact details for your FSR on its page.
