Project Funding

So great ideas don’t fail for lack of funds.

To help you get independent projects off the ground, the Student Council offers project funding. Whether you are organizing a lecture, an excursion, a movie screening, or a tournament, we can support you financially and conceptually.

Hinweis:

The best way to start is by dropping by our open consultation hours with your idea, where we can look for support options together. Even if you already have experience or have almost finished your funding application, attending a consultation is strongly recommended.

The basis of this funding is the Funding Guideline for Student Projects of the Student Council.

There are two different funding pools from which project funds can be requested:

Project Funding

Funding for projects and events organized by students of TUD Dresden University of Technology who wish to engage outside official courses in social, cultural, political, or sustainable activities. Participation in funded events and excursions must generally be open to all students. For subject-specific projects, please contact your Faculty Student Council.

Sports Funding

Would you like to organize a Kubb (Viking chess), beach volleyball, or another small sports tournament in Dresden? Or participate in university championships with the university team? Then the Student Council can assist you with its sports funding. For this purpose, it is best to contact the Sports Unit.

Application Process

If you would like to submit an application, you are welcome to visit our financial advice service. In addition, you should read through the guideline and consider which of the two funding pools is suitable for your idea. Then, send your project funding application, including a financing plan, to finanzantrag@stura.tu-dresden.de. You will then be invited to the corresponding meeting.

Hinweis:

The application deadline is Monday, 4:00 PM before the next Student Council meeting.

Your application e-mail should contain the following information:

  • First and last name of the applicant
  • The motion text
  • A justification/reasoning for the application
  • The Financial Application Form
  • For all expense items exceeding €200.00:

Please always attend the Funding Committee meeting or the Student Parliament yourself or send a deputy to explain your motion and answer questions.

Hinweis:

The Student Council can only provide support if no expenses have been incurred yet. Contractual obligations or payments for expenses related to financial motions can only be made after formal approval by the Student Parliament! This must be verified for accounting purposes using the order or booking confirmation and applies to the entire financial application.

Mandatory Acknowledgment of Support

If your project is funded by the student body of TUD Dresden University of Technology from its student funds, you are obligated to refer to the funding provided by the student body in publications, at the event, and across all promotional materials. Please use one of the logos listed here on promotional graphics or printed materials, and for text-only promotions (e.g. emails), include a corresponding note, such as: ‘This event is sponsored by the TU Dresden Students’ Council.’
