Factulty bodies

The student body is sectioned in faculty student bodies, most of them along the faculties. Every faculty student body is represented by a Faculty Students‘ Council (FSR).

Faculty Students‘ Council

Just like the student council (StuRa), the FSR represents student interests. It represents the students in certain degree programs that are grouped together into a faculty student body. The FSR is the first point of contact concerning problems with your lectures and supports you in the first weeks to orient at the university with the introduction week “ESE”.

It provides useful tips and support like exam collections, counseling but also cultural events, study trips and parties. You can also get elected as a member in FSR and apply for positions in committees and councils, e.g. the student council plenary.

There you can work directly on reforming student documents and hiring professors for the faculty. The FSR also has its own budget from the semester fee.

List of all faculty student bodies / FSR

The existence and composition of Faculty Student Councils are governed by §26(1) and §28(2) of the Saxon Higher Education Act (Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz). According to these provisions, a Faculty Student Council is an organ of the student body, provided that the Student Council has established a breakdown into faculty student bodies.

The assignment of faculty student bodies to the individual degree programs was passed by the Student Parliament.

Consequently, the members of the Student Parliament consist of the delegated representatives from the Faculty Student Councils.
