Student Parliament

The Student Council is the highest representative body of students at the TU Dresden. It is composed of representatives elected directly by the faculty student councils. The Student Council meets regularly in plenary sessions. This plenary assembly makes decisions on fundamental issues, major expenditures, and adopts the budget as well as the regulations governing the student body.

Matters concerning the student parliament should be addressed to the meeting’s presiding board.

Motions

Any student at the TU Dresden may submit a motion to the plenary session of the Student Council (StuRa). The motion is then placed on the agenda for the next (regular) student parliament meeting and published in the meeting documents. The student parliament then discusses and votes on the motion during the meeting.

Here you can find out how to fill in and submit a motion.

Members

The student parliament consists of 41 seats, to which representatives may be appointed by the faculty student councils. Each of these seats carries one vote at student parliament meetings.

Who is currently appointed by each faculty student council you can look up in this list.

Would you like to participate in the student parliament yourselves? You are always welcome to join the discussions during meetings, regardless of whether you have been officially delegated. Of course, you can also always have a faculty student council elect you to the student parliament.

Meeting documents/minutes

Meeting documents are provided for every (regular) meeting. These list all motions to be discussed and, ideally, provide explanations for them, enabling participants to prepare for the meetings. The documents are published on the Monday prior to the meeting. The content and order of the agenda are subject to change at any time up until the meeting begins and are formally confirmed at the start of the meeting.

The meeting documents and meeting minutes are available on OPAL.

Sitzungsvorstand

In addition to the members and guests attending a student parliament meeting, there is also the meeting board. They collect the motions for a meeting, issue invitations, and direct the meeting.

You can find more information about the meeting board here.
