Student Support and Advising

If you have questions about your rights regarding exams, regulations on repeating exams, third attempts, part-time studies, changing your degree program, or other topics, we offer student advice at the Student Council. We try to help you out when it comes to examination or study regulations, the study process, or the module handbook. We take special care of tricky topics; otherwise, your Faculty Students Council can also offer initial advice. For legal topics, we can refer you to our lawyer, who regularly offers legal advice at the Student Council. You can find more information about all advice services on our advice overview page.

By the way, we also have an FAQ for frequently asked questions about examination law.

Accreditation

To ensure and continuously improve the quality of studies and teaching, degree programs are generally reviewed and accredited (certified) every eight years according to formal and subject-specific/content criteria. As a system-accredited university, TUD Dresden University of Technology can accredit its degree programs itself based on a confirmed quality management system. In this process, various data are compiled in a report (e.g., from student surveys) and various criteria are evaluated using a scale. After a statement by the Faculty, the degree program is reviewed by the Commission for Quality in Studies and Teaching (KQSL) and accredited—potentially with conditions and recommendations. Students can make a decisive contribution to this process as student members in the KQSL. You can find all information on this topic on our accreditation page.
