Every year around February 13th, far-right events take place to mark the bombings of Dresden 1945. At the time, this was carried out by the Allied Forces in the course of the Second World War, which was started by Nazi Germany. Right-wing groups and actors use this today as a pretext to relativise the crimes of the National Socialists. Unfortunately, these narratives do not remain confined to the right-wing scene. They also shape the official commemoration and the public debate in Dresden.

In this context, large Nazi marches and rallies take place in Dresden every year, attempting to use this event ot reinterpret history and to swap perpetrators and victims. As the Student Council, we clearly oppose this with counter-demonstrations and other events, and we accompany the commemoration critically.
